| Dr. Doug Haynes, CEO of Blue Ridge Nebula Airlines (www.blueridge.com and www.bluenebula.com) was the guest for this Friday morning Space Show program. Dr. Haynes is an outside the box propulsion designer, space vehicle builder, and engineer as he is building a unique saucer-like flying craft for space travel. You can hear Doug describe his technology and his plans in this 100 minute Space Show program. Doug fields questions from listeners, talks about the rocket equation and his craft, space suit and safety design, mass and payload rations, radiation shielding, antigravity and lots more. He describes his fuel, his rocket and jet engines, and how he came up with these designs and concepts. Given his FAA training and his piloting and instructor work, plus his studies in aviation and aeronautical engineering, I am sure you will find this program and Doug's work to be interesting. Dr. Haynes invites further questions and comments from listeners via email to dehas@sisna.com. |
| About our guest... |
Dr. Doug Haynes Dr. Doug Haynes became the youngest African American to own and operate a FAA certified airline company in the Colorado try state region and the only person in the world to have built and register a real flying saucer shaped space craft with the FAA while in pursuit of a spaceline operator’s certification. Dr. Haynes began design and building both conventional aircraft and flying saucers at the age of six primaries because his father and brothers were highly skilled model aircraft builders and operators. Dr. Haynes obtained his first official FAA certification / training as an aircraft and powerplant technician by attending Spartan School of Aeronautic in 1974 at the age of 18. At this same time Dr. Haynes started flying Cessna 150 aircraft trainers and soon become both a pilot and technician. Dr. Haynes begin working on small general aviation , high speed and altitude aircraft at the age of 19 at Combs Gates Lear jet FBO in Denver Colorado while developing the initial designee ideas of his flying saucer spacecraft. By the age of 24 Dr. Haynes had receive his BS degree in aerospace sciences management and was running his own aviation flight school while perusing both his masters and Ph. D degrees in aeronautical engineering and aerospace sciences advanced management protocols while attending Columbian Pacifica University. By 1986 Dr. Haynes had become a two year experienced CEO of his aviation training corporation operating under the name of Blue Ridge Flight center. In the mid 1990’s, after working for several major passenger and cargo airlines like Frontier, International , Continental, United, Ryan and Nigeria Airways Dr. Haynes became both a FCC certified avionic technician professor and a FAA masters maintenance instructed /designated examiner (DME) Colorado. He successfully reconverted his aviation company into a FAA certified 135 air-carrier operation and had begun flying both passengers and cargo payloads across the airways of Colorado deep blue skies. By 2003 Dr. Haynes had initiated the transition of his Blue Ridge Airline operation into a spaceline company by finalizing the design work on his Star Trek looking, full size flying saucer spacecraft called the Haynes Saucer which he had been up-prototyping for many years. Dr. Haynes Flying Saucer has now been registered with the FAA for over three years in the category of a multi ramrocket engine aircraft. While finalizing the design work on the Haynes Saucer Dr. Doug also began working on his second master / Ph D, degrees in the fields of business HR management and advanced education/ research at the University of Phoenix. The work associated with these two advanced education degrees has helped Dr, Haynes complete his scholarly referenced manuscript business plan entitled The “Third Wave Galactic Airlines which features the establishment of a solar system spaceline navigation rout system as posted on his company’s web page at www.blueridgeairlines.com. In 2006 Dr. Haynes and his Blue Ridge Nebula Airline management team applied for a AST RLV certification in Washington DC their by becoming the first US certified airline group of the 20th century to do so historically. Currently Dr. Haynes is competing in the Bigalow America Space Prize race with the Haynes Saucer and expects to go orbital in his Star Trek looking ship just after AST FAA certification. The VTOL nine passenger Haynes Sauce spaceship is propelled by two DEHAS S-ramrocket engines and has the ability to produce both anti and artificial gravity as displayed on local TV over three years ago. Dr, Haynes believe that his Haynes Sauce craft in the most advanced airship every crated in the history of the world and is looking forward to piloting it into suborbital space soon.
